🏠 DR-RISE considers end-users – residential households – as the centre of the energy transition. To enable end-users to make self-aware decisions about their energy use, DR-RISE is building tools to provide them with information and promote engagement in demand response (DR) practices.
📝 As a first step, Trilateral Research – a project partner of the DR-RISE project – is leading work on a survey with residential households at the DR-RISE pilot sites.
The purpose of the survey is to better understand current characterisations, energy behaviours, and engagement drivers of end-consumers. The survey will focus on household demographics, current energy usage, environmental values, digital skills, knowledge about DR, and electric vehicle usage. Special care was taken to design the survey questions to be clear and inclusive. The survey will be conducted in the local language (Spanish, Greek, and German), either in person or online.
More detailed follow-up interviews will be conducted later to elaborate on the responses. The end result will be a dataset that can be analysed to develop productive and ethical ways of classifying end-consumers for DR-RISE activities.
As the data management and ethics lead in DR-RISE, Trilateral Research is also ensuring that all personal data collected through the survey will be handled in compliance with relevant laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The survey is a voluntary activity and DR-RISE will collect prior informed consent from all survey participants.
