ENLIT on the road

We were invited by Enlit Europe to participate in the event aiming to present the status of the development of energy communities in Greece, the challenges they face and to showcase some good examples.
Among the good practices we presented were the DR-rise pilots.

The event was very successful and important since we had the opportunity to interact with key market, academic, and civil society actors, including: the DSO (https://deddie.gr/en/ ), the Energy Regulatory Authority (https://www.rae.gr/en/), DAFNE network (https://lnkd.in/dC6pN5W ), Mytilineos energy supplier (https://lnkd.in/dYBqSjru ), Technical University of Athens – SmartRueLab (https://lnkd.in/ev7Wsp8z).
The discussion also touched upon the social benefits of energy communities (apart from the environmental and economic ones).

Demand-side flexibility emerged as a central theme in the discussion, highlighting, however, that there are still several challenges to be addressed, particularly concerning demand-response at the residential level. The primary obstacles include the digitalization of the energy grid and the necessity for supportive legal and regulatory frameworks. We reached a consensus to collaborate in order to address the burdens and unlock the potential of demand-response for energy communities in Greece.
