What is the purpose of DR-RISE project?
DR-RISE is a Horizon Europe-funded project that seeks to bring demand response solutions a reality for residential buildings. DR-RISE accounts for 13 expert partners from 8 different European countries involved. DR-RISE consortium is committed to bringing demand response solutions to pilot cases distributed among Europe (in Spain, Greece and Germany), showcasing its benefits and main advantages to the end users while using cutting-edge technologies to enhance the future implementation of these methodologies, generating value for stakeholders at every level.
How will DR-RISE implement demand response techniques?
DR-RISE project will test different demand response techniques in different scenarios. In the Spanish pilot and since dynamic tariff is already a reality in Spain, implicit demand response with Time-of-use tariffs can be followed and measured. On the other hand, in Greece and since there is no such tariff due to the lack of smart-metering, other price based demand response techniques will be implemented. To ensure end users have all the information they need, a web and mobile application will be deployed for them to check DR signals, renewable production forecast and other relevant information. Am I going to be penalised if I am not able to follow demand response signals during the project?
Participation in demand response signals within the DR-RISE project will always be entirely optional and it will never lead to a penalty for the end-user in case of non-compliance. Participation will be measured solely to develop metrics that will provide insight into the degree of user engagement.
Is there a necessity to install new assets/equipment for participating in the project? Will it require investment?
In order to provide the best service, The DR-RISE forecast and optimiser tools will require some assets to be installed in the households to provide the most accurate results. In any case, these assets will be easy to install (plug and play or low-intrusive instalation) and will ensure the comfort of the households to be the same as before they were installed. In addition, these new assets will be totally free for the users as they will be acquired, provided and installed by the DR-RISE project.
Will my personal energy consumption data be confidential?
All the data collected during the project will be protected and will only be used to achieve the project’s outcomes (e.g., forecast household consumption, demand response penetration level, user requirements for demand response initiatives, etc.). This police applies to both personal and energy usage data and is independant of the source of acquisition of the data (surveys, home appliances, etc.).
